These Terms of Service govern your use of the Owl Literacy Academy website (owlliteracy.academy) and any services provided by Laurie Dymes, Ph.D. ("Owl Literacy Academy," "I," or "we"). By using this website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.

1. About Our Services

Owl Literacy Academy provides educational services including:

• One-on-one structured literacy tutoring for students with dyslexia
• CRISP reading assessments and written Literacy Analysis Reports
• IEP and 504 meeting guidance (educational, not legal representation)
• Professional development workshops for educators and school teams
• Initial family consultations

All services are educational in nature. Please see our Disclaimer for important information about what our services are and are not.

2. Scheduling and Appointments

Appointments are scheduled through our booking system or by direct communication with Dr. Dymes. To respect everyone's time:

• Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
• Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee, communicated to you at the time of scheduling.
• We reserve the right to reschedule appointments when necessary and will provide as much advance notice as possible.

3. Fees and Payment

Service fees are discussed and agreed upon prior to the start of any paid service. Fees are subject to change with reasonable advance notice to existing clients. Payment terms will be communicated at the time of service agreement.

The initial family consultation is provided free of charge with no obligation.

All fees for completed services are non-refundable. If Dr. Dymes cancels a scheduled service, a full refund or rescheduling option will be offered at your preference.

4. Free Resources

Downloadable resources offered on this site are provided for personal, non-commercial use only. They may not be reproduced, distributed, or resold without written permission from Dr. Laurie Dymes.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including written copy, assessments, reports, and downloadable materials, is the intellectual property of Owl Literacy Academy unless otherwise noted. Literacy Analysis Reports generated from CRISP assessments are prepared for the specific family and student and are provided for their personal use.

You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute content from this site without prior written consent.

6. Limitation of Liability

Owl Literacy Academy provides educational services and information in good faith. However, we make no guarantees regarding specific outcomes for any individual student. Reading development varies by individual, and results depend on many factors including consistency of attendance, at-home practice, and the student's specific needs.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OWL LITERACY ACADEMY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE USE OF OUR SERVICES OR WEBSITE.

In no event shall Owl Literacy Academy's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the services exceed the total fees paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes. You may not use this site to transmit harmful, offensive, or misleading content, or to attempt to access systems or data you are not authorized to access.

8. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of Lincoln County, North Carolina.
